Importance of Self Love + Plans for 2020

February 1, 2020 in Life, Mind & Soul
Last year has been tough for me. I’ve been through a lot from losing people that matter to me, struggling in my career, to my romantic relationship. There are times where I feel like I don’t matter anymore, and I’m no longer relevant to someone else life. I’ve spent nights crying and dealing with my anxiety.

But with those experiences, I’ve seen my worth, and I learned to love myself more. It did not happen overnight, but I took a couple of steps to surround myself with loving care. Instead of saying the most awful and demeaning things to myself, I’ve learned to encourage myself and to always think positive. I know it’s not that easy, but you have to start doing it. I’ve also learned to cut people out of my life that causes negativity and triggers my anxiety. One of the things that also helped me a lot is not depending on my life on social media and focusing more on what’s important in real life.

If you are also dealing with anxiety, I want you to know that we all have strengths and areas of opportunity. Don’t sell yourself short or compare yourself to others. The next time you hear a voice saying that you are not good enough or that you can’t afford to make mistakes, ignore it. Don’t be too tough on yourself. Believe me, if you love your self more, you will get to know who you truly are at the core of your being, and you will learn to accept it, including your flaws.

If you have tough days, take a break, and travel somewhere. Get off your phone and give yourself some “me time.” You are important. Love yourself as much as you love people around you. We all deserved to be happy!

This year holds a lot of possibilities and new beginnings for all of us. So let me share with you what are some of my plans for myself this 2020.

1. My top priority this year is my mental health. I will focus on what will make myself happy and do the things that I love, even if I have to do it myself. I will try doing meditation again and read more inspiring books. I’m also planning to keep a gratitude journal wherein I will regularly make a note of the things that I’m thankful for.

2. I will try to be as healthy as possible by exercising often and eating more fruits and veggies.

I will actively improve my personal health and well-being through self-discovery and self-love. Recently, I have been reading on noti.ph – It’s a quality adult sex shop here in the Philippines that encourages women to learn the importance of sexual health and well-being, by providing modern and informative articles through their sexicon.

3.  I will also try to be more active in Blogging this year. I will try to produce content at least once a week.

4. Since December last year, I’ve been thinking of donating a portion of my Adsense earning to a charity. I want to make a difference by supporting a cause that is close to my heart (Mental health awareness and saving the environment). I attended an event last year, and I was inspired to do this when a friend introduced me to KINDer. They bring boundless possibilities to do good and limitless ways of lending a hand and giving generously.
5. I will travel more this year, and hopefully, I can do solo travel. I admit I’m scared to go solo because of security reasons, and no one will take my photos. LOL! But this year, I will be adventurous and spontaneous when it comes to traveling.

6. Aside from traveling, I would like to learn a new hobby this year. I might join a few classes and workshops about baking and cooking.

7. I guess this is the time to be more financially literate because I’m not getting any younger.  I already started this last year by getting insurance and small investment. This year, I want to learn more about it. I want to save more money for my future and learn how to invest in a stock market.

8. Most of you know that an office job is not my thing. I quit my job 2 years ago to pursue a career in writing. Since then, I worked as a freelance writer, digital marketer, and blogger. I also started a small online business, but the income is not that good, So this year, I would like to start a long-term business. I already have a plan in mind, but I’m still looking for the perfect time to start it.

How about you? What are your plans for this year? Let me know in the comments below!

I feel you girl! I experienced my lowest last 2016 and it took me a yeat to pull myself together. What you've written made me go down memory lane and made me think I'm happy to where I am now. The journey will not be easy. There were times that you'll have second thoughts about your plans. But please, dont give up! Have some support from your family and friends. They're important! The plans you've written are like mine before actually. After years of self-love, I now bake, I'm healthier, and I'm stronger. The new me made me attract good people and blessings. I'm so glad that you are now motivated to be a better you. You can do it, Nicole! ❤

About #1, I hope I can help. I wrote something similar that can help you:
