DIY: Body Scrub

Using body scrub gives many benefits in our skin. Aside from it is very relaxing, it removes the dead layers of cells on the surface of our skin, revealing the younger cells beneath, and leaving our skin feeling soft and smooth. It also moisturizes our skin because it contains natural oils.

Homemade body scrubs are very easy to make. After watching Bethany Mota‘s video blog in which she made two kinds of body scrub, I was inspired to make my own too. Instead of buying, You can make your own body scrub using just a few ingredients. You can make it for yourself, or you can give it to your girl friends as a gift.

For this, I used salt and ground coffee to exfoliate my skin. You can use any gritty substance. Sugar and salt are common and have the benefit that they dissolve in water so they don’t leave any mess in your bathtub. But I don’t recommend using salt after shaving. It will sting. If you’re going to use salt scrub, Just use it before shaving. Aside from coffee, sugar, and salt, you can also use oatmeal to exfoliate your skin.

Next thing you will do, after choosing the best exfoliants for your skin, put a base oil to hold the mixture together and moisturizes your skin. Just mix it together and add essential oil for the fragrance of your body scrub and you’re done!

You can now make your own version of body scrub by using the three primary ingredients.
