Hey guys! So, I just turned 23 last week. I don’t know why it feels like birthdays don’t excite me anymore. I’m not sure if it’s just me or it’s normal for people in their 20’s. Don’t get me wrong, I still love birthdays, and I always try to make the most out of mine. But for some reason, that exceptional feeling I always used to have before has vanished. I guess birthdays become less and less of a big deal as you start to get older.
I had 2 cups of coffee earlier, and here I am, having a hard time to sleep. While I’m contemplating the various experiences I had and the people I have met that made these 23 years of life amazing, I decided to share on this post the 23 Life Lessons I’ve Learned in my 23 years of existence. Yup! A random blog post while I have a bunch of backlog waiting to be published. That’s me as a Blogger. lol
1. Always Be Kind. As they say, you have to treat others as you wish to be treated. Don’t just be helpful, but be kind to other people. That can be so rewarding! If we can all do this, the world would be a better place.
2. The only opinion that matters is your own. We know ourselves better than anyone does or ever will. Some people will judge you, no matter what. But the only thing that really matters is your opinion of yourself and how you carry yourself.
3. Little things matter. It’s not the big wins, the significant accomplishments, or your status in life that really count.
4. Self-love is important. The person you should love more than anyone or anything else in the world is yourself.
5. You don’t need a lot of friends, just a few really good ones.
6. Travel as far as you can. There are so many exciting adventures and amazing places to discover. Traveling gives us a chance to slow down and take a break from our fast-paced lives allowing us to recognize what is truly important in our lives. Nothing is more exciting than going out and exploring the unknown. That, to me, is living life.
7. The law of attraction works. The more we express our gratitude, the more things we will have to be grateful for.
8. Listening to your heart, even if it looks ridiculous from a logical perspective, will never fail you. We all have this inner voice. Find the courage to listen to it and act on it.
9. It’s okay to fail sometimes. Accept that failure is part of life. We try so hard to avoid failure, but failure is the real evidence that we’ve dared to try. Learn from it, grow from it, and move on.
10. There are no mistakes, only lessons we need to master.
11. If you want your relationships to succeed, you have to leave your ego behind. My romantic relationship taught me that trying to be right or holding your pride just doesn’t work if you want it to succeed. It was challenging but probably a good lesson I’ve learned in life.
12. If you don’t believe in yourself, nobody will. If you don’t believe in yourself or if you don’t believe that you are capable of, chances are that nobody will.
13. Life is too short to spend it living out the expectations of others. This is your journey. Make it your story.
14. Skincare is essential! If you want gorgeous skin 30 years from now, the choices you make today will help that happen. Beautiful skin is a lifelong process, and developing a daily skincare routine today can help you keep beautiful skin for the future.
15. Forgiveness is the key to freedom.
16. Change is good. It’s a part of life that we shouldn’t resist. Embrace it and think of it as an adventure.
17. Surround yourself with positive people if you want to be happy. It is important to avoid toxic people and to surround ourselves only with quality people if we’re going to grow. Some people will never change even if they receive one hundred new chances. That’s life
18. You’ll be scared to do things, but do them anyway. Being courageous isn’t the same as not feeling any fear. To develop courage, do something even if you feel afraid.
19. Patience is a virtue. For things to happen, for anything to happen, we need to be patient. Great things take time, and we need to learn how to give time
20. Comparing ourselves to others is the fastest way to feel anxious and unfulfilled.
21. Cherish what you have in your life. There will be times when you’ll envy what others possess or have achieved in their lives. This prevents you from seeing the good things in your own life and wastes energy that you could otherwise direct in working towards your success.
22. Embrace simplicity. Practice the art and virtue in all aspects of your life. When you de-clutter and remove the excesses in your life, you will gain more peace and appreciate life more.
23. Life is beautiful. Make the most out of it!
